Meet the Community Team at Rezzed

We’re very excited to be heading to EGX Rezzed (March 30th - April 1st) this week. During Rezzed you’ll have the chance to try our award-winning interactive story The Assembly, our puzzle-platformer Danger Goat, and our relaxation experience Perfect.

The Assembly is a first-person interactive story, which has been inspired by real-world anxieties and designed from the ground up for virtual reality headsets. Explore a morally ambiguous organisation as two individuals, face tough decisions, and discover multiple thrilling conclusions.

Danger Goat was created exclusively for Google Daydream, and is a chaotic caper featuring an intergalactic space goat. You’ll dodge hundreds of dastardly traps and solve puzzles to help him escape the clutches of secret agents.

Perfect is a virtual reality escapism experience. Leave behind the daily grind and slip away to beautiful relaxation locations, made possible through virtual reality. Visit several stunning destinations, from sun-drenched beaches and peaceful mountains to the spectacular Northern Lights.

You can find us in the VR Zone Room, make sure you stop by and say hello!

If you are not attending EGX Rezzed, don’t worry we have you covered! You can follow the conversation online using #EGXRezzed – or enter our competition for a chance to win a copy of Perfect and The Assembly on Steam. Enter below:

What is your job at nDreams?

Hello! I’m the Associate Community Manager at nDreams.

How long have you been at nDreams?

I’ve been at nDreams since June 2016, so I’ve been lucky enough to work on our first three major titles (The Assembly, Danger Goat and Perfect) since I started!

What did you do before you joined nDreams?

I worked for Ukie who are the trade association for the UK games industry. I was part of the community and events team, so I was lucky enough to work at events such as Gamescom, GDC San Francisco, Game Connection Paris, EGX and Rezzed. I also ran their student membership and training programmes, supporting careers in games and giving talks to students. Any excuse to chat to people!

What are your hobbies?

I love being crafty – not just being a bit evil (which is true), but also sewing, cross-stitching, quilting, being terrible at knitting, any excuse to make things. I also love all fluffy animals (I started the nDreams #catslack channel), the Moomins, Bill Murray, and playing board games.

What kind of gamer are you?

I’ve been playing games since I was a child, and I think my taste in games has been stuck in the past to some extent. I replay through Red Dead Redemption once a year or so, I’ve been playing Minecraft for about four years, and I recently found Pharaoh, Evil Genius and the original 90s Rollercoaster Tycoon on GOG which was a dream come true. I’m not hardcore by any means, I love games where I can explore a world or build my own at my own pace.

What do you like the most about nDreams?

The people at nDreams are so, so lovely. I love working with people who I can have fun with.

Is a Jaffa Cake a biscuit or a cake?

A cake, end of.

What is your job at nDreams?

Communications Manager, responsible for growing nDreams’ global community and delivering the communications strategy.

How long have you been at nDreams?

Not even a month, talk about being thrown in at the deep end! It’s all good fun - I love having the chance to meet the community face-to-face. Make sure you come and say hello :)

What did you do before you joined nDreams?

I’ve been working in the games industry for over 10 years at EA and more recently SEGA. I’ve also worked for Maker Studios (The Walt Disney Company) working directly with YouTube content creators. Prior to my time in the games industry I worked in film and music producing DVDs and enhanced CDs – can you believe we used to buy one or two songs + a video on a CD and think it was cool!

What are your hobbies?

All things Star Wars and Video Games, goes without saying! When I’m not gaming, I’m writing – anything from plays to poems and short stories. This year I will finish my sci-fi novel :) when I’m not writing or gaming I’m being a dad – I’m looking forward to the day when I can introduce my daughter to gaming! I’ve already kitted her out with awesome Star Wars baby grows! The force is strong with this one…

What kind of gamer are you?

I like to think I am a multi-platform gamer. I remember the days when games came on cassettes or 12 floppy discs and now I’m working in an industry where you can immerse and interact with content like never before. I’m a big fan of Battlefield and have been playing since 1942 :) my all-time favourite game is Flashback on the Amiga, the game had an awesome art style and the introduction animation blew my mind – it was incredible! Working in VR I now have the perfect excuse to upgrade my PC and kit out the man cave with all things VR!

What do you like the most about nDreams?

I’ve only worked at nDreams for a few weeks and I’m already starting to feel like I’ve been here for years. The people are awesome and it’s great to work in a such a fun environment.

Is a Jaffa Cake a biscuit or a cake?

Biscuit. The cake is a lie!
