About Us

Who are we?

We are nDreams, a developer and publisher of virtual reality (VR) games and experiences.


Based in Farnborough, UK, and founded in 2006 by former Eidos Creative Director, Patrick O’Luanaigh, we quickly established ourselves as the leading publisher in PlayStation Home and as a developer of several major alternate reality games (ARG’s). In 2013, however, our focus shifted when we first got our hands on the Oculus Rift and Sony’s Project Morpheus development kits. We saw the future, fell in love, and there was no turning back…

We’re now the largest UK software developer to be solely focused on creating virtual reality entertainment content. We’ve honed our dedicated VR skills by creating multiple games and experiences for all the leading platforms. Recently, we received a $3 million USD investment to continue our rapid growth, enabling us to keep pace with our relentless ambition.

Where are we going?

We've already published a number of titles – including The Assembly, Gunner and Perfect Beach.

We continue to work on multiple unannounced projects, including two launch titles for Daydream, Google’s platform for high-performance mobile VR. It’s exciting. It’s crazy. Every day is an adventure and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been up to.

What do we do?

    Since early 2013 we’ve been working in VR, developing a high level of understanding and expertise of the medium across its leading platforms. And we continue to learn, every day…
  2. VR Development

    We’ve already created VR titles for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Sony PlayStation VR, Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard, including The Assembly, Gunner and Perfect Beach. Right now we're hard at work on two launch titles for Daydream, Google’s platform for high-performance mobile VR, as well as dreaming up ideas for our next big release… and the one after that!

    We are always on the lookout for other remarkable VR studios to work with. Whether it’s to assist with funding, to help with publishing and marketing of titles, or just for some friendly advice, we’re here to talk.

Where have we come from?

2015

Our adventures in virtual reality continue at an incredible pace! We received a $3 million investment from our friends at Mercia Technologies PLC and released our first commercial VR titles, Gunner and Perfect Beach, on Samsung Gear VR. Later in the year we released Perfect Beach on Google Cardboard, too! Work continued apace on The Assembly, and we enjoyed showing it off to the crowds at EGX in Birmingham.

2014

Ramping up VR development allowed us to announce our first three titles in the first half of 2014. At E3 we revealed The Assembly, a story-led adventure game for the Oculus Rift and Sony Project Morpheus to much acclaim (named by Wired as one of the two best VR experiences they’d experienced). Then in September we announced Gunner and Perfect Beach for the Samsung Gear VR. To help spur interest in VR as an emerging medium, we also set up the virtual reality news website VR Focus, run independently by a dedicated team from its own offices in Norwich.

2013

This was the year VR started for us - our Year Zero. The experience of putting on a VR headset for the first time made us realise this truly was the future and we had to be a part of it. There was no turning back and in September we released our first tech demo, SkyDIEving, on the Oculus Rift, which remains one of the most downloaded VR demos available.

2010

In addition to PlayStation Home we were hard at work making titles for numerous global partners such as Cadbury, Unilever and Vertigo Films. Most notably however was Lewis Hamilton: Secret Life – a global ARG created with Reebok featuring multiple games, movies, websites and more which had over 600,000 people take part.

2009

We released our first experience in PlayStation Home, alternate reality game Xi, receiving many plaudits, being played by more than 650,000 people. This kicked off a huge part of nDreams’ history as we began to work on numerous projects for the social platform. This included Aurora, the hugely successful game space that received over 20 million visits during its lifespan. nDreams became one of the leading publishers within the space and continued to support the platform until it closed in early 2015.

2006

nDreams started as a one-man indie team with a lot of exciting ideas. For the beginning of nDreams’ life it was just our founder, Patrick, in an office making prototypes for various games. That didn’t last for long though…
