International Women's Day
nDreams is committed to constantly challenging and changing the levels of diversity within in the company. Over the past two years the number of employees who identify as female has more than doubled and whilst this is incredibly positive, there is still room to improve, and we’re committed to challenging ourselves further to ensure this happens.
Whilst there have always been challenges around being a woman in games, this past year has put extra strain on everyone. With all that has happened due to COVID 19, it has been women (in the majority) that have shouldered the extra responsibilities of home school and care giving alongside their “normal” work and everyday life. As a company we’ve challenged ourselves throughout the pandemic to ensure there has been access to additional support to those in need and we’ll continue to do so as long as it is required.
When some of the team were asked to describe how they felt about being a woman in games, inspired, excited, passionate, and emboldened were some of the words used. Today is about highlighting their successes in their roles at the studio. Our designers and directors, our coders and our communicators and our financers and facilitators. It is about challenging ourselves to ensure they continue to be supported, elevated and celebrated.
From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge and collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.
