The Assembly - Now Available to Play on PC
We are excited to announce that The Assembly, our first major release for high-end VR headsets, has now launched for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive! You can purchase it on Steam and Oculus Home, priced at $29.99 / €24.99 / £19.99.
The Assembly is our first-person interactive story for mature audiences, created from the ground up as a long-form virtual reality game. Our small (but growing!) team has poured more than two years of blood, sweat and presence into this game, having nurtured it from humble Oculus DK1 beginnings all the way up to the shiny new consumer headsets. Now that VR is finally upon us, we’re very excited for people to get their hands on our hard work.

Once purchased, you have the option to upgrade to the VR edition at any time in order to experience the game as originally intended. You can also find The Assembly on Green Man Gaming, Humble Bundle, GamersGate, plus other popular digital marketplaces.
The perfect introduction to VR
The Assembly is a narrative-driven, character-focused game in which you uncover a morally dubious organization through a gripping and incisive interactive story. You'll be able to freely explore intricate, realistic environments with intuitive, accessible movement controls as you're immersed within the game and its world in ways only achievable through virtual reality.
It's an experience with two sides to everything, where the truth is never clear, and a question is always left open: When does the end justify the means?
What is The Assembly?
A mysterious collective of scientists, engineers and academics known solely as the Assembly has been conducting secret experiments underground, their astonishing breakthroughs only made possible by operating outside government scrutiny and society’s morals. But what is the Assembly hiding? How far will it go to keep its existence buried? And what will it sacrifice in the pursuit of progress?
Who are the main characters?
You’ll play as two individuals – each with their own motivations – and discover the mysteries of the Assembly’s facility through contrasting perspectives as a chain of events threatens to expose this shadowy group. As newcomer Madeleine Stone, you’ll face a bizarre induction program that seeks to test your potential; and as veteran scientist Cal Pearson, you’ll make a series of shocking revelations that lead you to question the Assembly’s relentless pursuit of progress.
Throughout the game, you'll face thought-provoking dilemmas with uncertain outcomes that challenge your views of the Assembly and its members, all coming to a head in one of multiple surprising conclusions. But will your actions and their future repercussions save lives… or lead to catastrophe?
Progress isn’t perfect
With The Assembly, we've set out to make the most convincing interactive story in VR to date by combining realistic graphics with life-like positional audio and an intuitive in-game UI. Even so, every interactive story needs a narrative that captures the player’s imagination, which is why The Assembly has been set against a backdrop of current events and real-life societal anxieties.
Take a look at the world today and you’ll see life changing technology being developed at a rate where laws and institutions can’t keep up. This can lead to all kinds of difficult decisions regularly being made by people on all ends of the spectrum. Having this as the foundation for our story allows us to ask players whether it’s possible for one person to make a real difference.
