‘Assembling UI in VR’ at Develop: Brighton

It’s pouring with rain and it’s blowing a gale – it must be the Great British summer!

Now that it’s summer, the countdown to the Develop Conference in July has begun. We’re excited to be heading to Brighton to meet up with our peers in the videogames development community, where our CEO and Founder Patrick O’Luanaigh will be speaking about ‘Assembling Perfect UI in VR’.

This talk will highlight the differences between developing for traditional flat-screen experiences from those in virtual reality. You can count on Patrick to provide practical takeaways, demonstrations and examples about how to master user interfaces in VR contexts. This includes subtitles, delivering contextual information to players, and how to deal with reading text and messages in VR. Patrick will also discuss the challenges of making UI work smoothly across all the major mobile and high-end VR headsets.

Develop: Brighton is shining the spotlight on virtual reality at the conference this year, with plenty of industry experts discussing all things VR. We’re really looking forward to sharing our experience of building our VR user interfaces with the games community – and popping down the pub with you all afterwards!

You can catch the talk on Thursday 14th July at 14:00-14:45 in Room 2 on the Design track. Tickets for the conference are still on sale here so if you haven’t booked your pass yet, now is the time to do so! This will give you access to all the talks, as well as the expo area.

We look forward to seeing you there!
